Pleurotus ostreatus

Oyster fungus – In animals, the pleurotus helps with diseases of muscles, bones and joints. In the human area it is used e.g. for prostate cancer.

Pleurotus is an excellent edible mushroom, rich in vitamins of the B-complex including folic acid, vitamin C and D. It grows naturally on old tree stumps, trunks of deciduous trees and dead wood and is one of the so-called white rot fungi.

Pleurotus is used in veterinary medicine mainly for diseases of the musculoskeletal system.

It relaxes muscles, joints, tendons and ligaments. In traditional Chinese medicine, this medicinal mushroom is used to relax the muscles of the lumbar spine. It promotes bone and cartilage formation and prevents bone decalcification.

The pleurotus promotes the formation of blood and the growth of young cells, also in the bone marrow. In numerous studies antiviral, antibacterial, antibiotic and antineoplastic as well as anti-inflammatory properties have been proven in the pleurotus.

In addition, it supports the growth of probiotic bacteria in the intestinal mucosa. After antibiotic therapy or worming, the intestinal flora is rebuilt and the immune system in the intestine is strengthened.
